The World Harmony Pagoda in Pokhara, Nepal, is a popular Buddhist stupa situated on top of a slope sitting above the city and the serene Phewa Lake. It is otherwise called the Shanti Stupa. The construction of the pagoda was aimed at fostering peace and harmony among people of various religions and cultures around the world. Shanti Stupa was worked by Nipponzan-Myohoji priest Morioka Sonin with nearby allies under the direction of Nichidatsu Fujii, a Buddhist priest and the organizer behind Nipponzan-Myohoji. The pagoda remains as an image of harmony and fills in as a spot for reflection and profound practices.
